The development of this work is to model a pitch controller based an autopilot that controls the pitch of an aircraft. The PID controller and model predictive controller are developed for controlling the pitch angle of an aircraft system. Simulation results for the response of pitch controller are presented in short period aircraft. Finally, the performances of pitch control systems are investigated and analyzed based on common criteria of step’s response. PID controller give the best performance, it was optimal.} }
