The Bennon and Incropera continuum model was used in the development of the mathematical model representing the solidification phenomena. This model included the conservative equations; these equations were disctretized by using the finite volume method. The numerical solution of the disctretized conservative equations was performed by means of the SIMPLER algorithm. ER -
