The structures are assembled from components and they are connected by various types of joints. However, the dynamic properties of the joints are difficult to incorporate in the model numerically accurately due to invalid assumption of the input value. The accuracy of the predicted result is significantly affected by the input properties of the joints themselves. In This study, the dynamic behaviour of a simplified model of a riveted crash box of double hat shape structure is investigated. Different types of connector elements are investigated and the accuracy of the connector elements are discussed in term natural frequencies and mode shapes and to achieve these goals, the predicted results will compare with the experimental data.
