It used the indicators of economic evaluation: Net Present Value (VAN), Cost-Benefit ratio (B/C), Net investment-benefit ratio (N/K) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) to perform the analysis of profitability. The results obtained in the conventional production system for a period of 10 years were: VAN = 759,695.72, B/C = 1.32, N/K = 3.52 and TIR = 18.80; that in comparison with those obtained in the system of organic production for the same period were: VAN = 2,281,659.96, B/C = 2.15, N/K = 12.36 and TIR = 22.90. On the basis of these indicators, it is concluded that the form of production of tomato under an organic management is more viable from the point of view of economic and ecological, instead of conventional production. Demonstrating that the profitability of this investment project is excellent because they have good prospects of marketing in Mexico and USA. ER -
