AB - Attaining the ambient standard for tropospheric O3
has been difficult despite efforts to reduce anthropogenic sources of the O3
precursors including nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds. Nitrogen
oxides in soil are produced primarily by microbial processes. This study proposes
a conceptual model to determine the environmental impacts of agricultural soil-NOx
emissions on ambient air O3 and NOx levels. A conceptual
framework of the methodology is given in this study. The study concludes that
the methodology will offer significant contribution to the assessment of soil-NOx
emissions on ambient air O3 and NOx levels.
