Etoamaihe, Development and Performance Evaluation of a Dehulling Machinefor African Breadfruit (Treculia africana), Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Volume 5,Issue 4, 2010, Pages 312-315, ISSN 1816-949x, jeasci.2010.312.315, (https://makhillpublications.co/view-article.php?doi=jeasci.2010.312.315) Abstract: A motorized African breadfruit seed dehuller was designed, fabricated and tested. Results showed that the machine had a maximum dehulling efficiency of 86% at 225 rpm speed and a maximum dehulling capacity of 176.2 kg h-1 at 425 rpm speed. There were significant effects of speeds on both the dehulling capacity and dehulling efficiency of the machine at 5% level of significance. The dehulling capacity increased with speed while the dehulling efficiency decreased with increased speed. The estimated cost of the machine was x35000 (USD250).
