The first part of the study presents the current mining situation in Colombia and in the world. The second part presents the most outstanding techniques in identification of plastic mines or with low metal content, emphasizing the implementation of Ground Penetration Radar (GPR) as the identification technique that has presented better results. Finally, it is present a study of the processing and identification techniques that are used together with the methods of detection and the conclusions obtained from the research.
