AB  - Over the last decade, a significant number of companies have been implementing ERP solutions because an investment in ERP technologies provides the promise of a competitive advantage through lower transaction costs and the integration of processes. The news reports highlight that many companies who have been attempting ERP implementations, have not been able to succeed in their objectives, as ERP implementation process is complex and painful. This paper provides an overview ERP systems, implementation problems and highlight critical success factors for ERP implementations after examining the ERP implementation process in many companies across countries. The details covered in this paper should help ERP implementers to formulate an appropriate strategy and guidelines to manage ERP implementation.
