The creation of the Information Security Industry Dispute Mediation Committee for the purpose of resolving disputes within the industry is a positive step forward in this regard. The Mediation Committee would be able to resolve even more disputes more efficiently, however, if it could be more versatile in its use of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods of resolution and if it were also empowered to utilize arbitration processes like the World Intellectuar Property Organization Arbitration and Mediati Center. The legal bases for party autonomy should be clarified in consideration of the procedural economy of the mediation process and more varied types of ADR should be used. ER -
