The Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) is a combination of back to back connected shunt and series Active Power Filters (APFs) to a common DC link voltage which compensates voltage and current based distortions, independently. Using instantaneous active and reactive power theory, harmonic detection, reactive power compensation, voltage sag and swell have been simulated and the results are analyzed. The operation and capability of the proposed system was analyzed through simulations with Matlab/Simulink. ER -
