Subscription-Based Journals

Journal Published by MAK Hill Publications is dedicated to facilitating broad dissemination of research while maintaining its subscription-based model. This self-archiving policy outlines the conditions under which authors can deposit versions of their work in institutional repositories, personal websites, and other platforms, balancing the need for access with the journal's publishing standards.

Pre-print Self-Archiving

Authors are permitted to deposit the pre-print version of their manuscript in institutional or subject-based repositories or personal websites at any point before or during the submission process. Preprints must include a statement acknowledging that the manuscript has been submitted to any journal published by MAK Hill Publications

Accepted Manuscripts (AM)

  • Authors may deposit the accepted manuscript on their personal website and/or in their funder or institutional repositories.
  • The accepted manuscript can be made publicly available after an embargo period of 12 months from the date of acceptance.
  • Use of the AM is subject to an embargo period and our AM terms of use, which permit users to view, print, copy, download, and text and data-mine the content for academic research purposes, subject to the full conditions of use. Under no circumstances may the AM be shared or distributed under a Creative Commons or other form of open-access license, nor may it be reformatted or enhanced.
  • Authors must include a link to the published version of the article on the MAK Hill Publications website along with the following statement:

"This is an accepted manuscript of an article published in any of MAK Hill Publication’s Journal. The final version is available at [DOI/link to the article]."

Published Version (Version of Record)

  • The published version of the article can only be shared under specific conditions.
  • Authors can share the published version on personal or institutional websites only after an embargo period of 24 months from the publication date.
  • Authors must include a full citation and link to the relevant journal published by MAK Hill Publications website: "This is the final published version of an article in any of journal published by MAK Hill Publications. It is available at [DOI/link to the article]."

Embargo Period

Authors must respect an embargo period of 12 months after publishing their article(s) before depositing the post-print version in institutional or subject-based repositories or personal websites. The article can only be accessed through the journal's website or database during this period.

  • For accepted manuscripts (AM), the embargo period is 12 months from the date of acceptance.
  • The embargo period for the published version (version of record) is 24 months from the date of publication.

Commercial Use

The article may not be used for commercial purposes without permission from the journal. Under no circumstances may the accepted manuscript be shared or distributed under a Creative Commons or other form of open-access license, nor may it be reformatted or enhanced.

Attribution

The article must be attributed to Journal Published by MAK Hill Publications and include a link to the published version on the journal's website. Authors must include the following acknowledgment and link from the accepted manuscript version to the URL of the published article: "This is an accepted manuscript of an article published in any journal published by MAK Hill Publications. The final version is available at [DOI/link to the article]."

Preservation

MAK Hill Publications reserves the right to preserve the article in its original form, even if it has been modified or deleted from external repositories. This ensures the integrity and availability of the published research.

Legal Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have the right to deposit the article and that it does not infringe on copyright or other intellectual property rights. Non-compliance may result in sanctions, including removing the article from relevant Journal published by MAK Hill Publications
