Abstract

In the present research, the use of organic compound (Schiff base with parazoline heterocyclic moiety) as corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1 M HCl was studied. The adsorption of the inhibitor on the surface of the mild steel has been studied. The study involved weight loss, electrochemical, surface (SEM and EDX) measurements. The obtained results indicated that the investigated organic compound (SB) exhibited excellent inhibition efficiency against the corrosion of mild steel in 1 M HCl solution.
