Abstract
Dengue (break-bone fever) is a mosquito-borne viral infection caused by dengue virus (DENV) and is common in tropical and subtropical regions with an average 100-400 million infection every year. Hepatitis A is an inflammation of the liver caused by Hepatitis A virus and is associated with contaminated food and water, poor sanitation and personal hygiene. Literature shows co-infection of Dengue and Hepatitis A virus is rare and is a diagnostic dilemma as well as challenge to the physician regarding its management. We report a case where the patient presented to us with a co-infection of Hepatitis A virus and Dengue fever.
