Abstract

The basic requirements for seeding grains when cultivating them in dry steppe areas of Kazakhstan are presented. The analysis of correspondence of different types of sowing systems for broad-cut seeders with these requirements is given. The main results of studies on the choice of pneumatic sowing systems are specified. The factors that do not allow the required uniformity of seed distribution between openers to be achieved are established. A combined pneumatic and mechanical sowing machine for distribution and conveying of seeds to openers is proposed for broad-cut seeders. The proposed sowing system was used in the development of SKBM-12 block-modular cultivator drill. The main results of acceptance tests of SKBM-12 which confirmed the high technological efficiency of the combined pneumatic and mechanical sowing system for broad-cut seeders are presented.
