Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) in South Africa aspires to expand access to education and training opportunities for youth by increasing the number of students in education, employment and training. Plans and anticipations were made to intensify ways to make it materialise. This study aim was to predict the growth rates of student numbers such that in 10 years time, the campus should be able to reach the student count of 10000, starting from the current (year 2017) student count of 3600. It used algebraic and geometric sequences to generate time series student count data for the next 10 years. The methods were tested using Chi-square statistical tests to illustrate the growths that could be used for future planning.
