Abstract

This study proposes one-step block method with generalized three-hybrid points for solving initial value problems of third order ordinary differential equations directly using interpolation and collocation strategy. In deriving this method, the approximate power series function is interpolated at {xn, xn+r, xn+s} while its third and fourth derivatives are collocated at {xn, xn+r, xn+s, xn+t and xn+1} in the given interval. Not only the developed method possesses good numerical method properties but it also out performs the existing methods when solving the same problems.
