Abstract

This study focuses on isolated communities, especially the tribal forest like To Pembuni can be viewed not only as the economic resources but also as a cosmos in which there is an interaction among the natural dimensions of the profane, the supernatural and the religion. The inability of planning identifies the characteristics of socio-culture and dimension of socio-religious of the isolated community. It is one weakness of resettlement programme which has implemented in some regions. Cultural and religious dimension as a reference to see To Pembuni’s activities is their system of knowledge and belief in relation to resettlement pattern and natural resources management. To Pembuni is closely related to nature, so their experience and cultural background that they use as the adaptive strategy to manage their environment.
