The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of spiritual leadership on organizational commitment and employee performance of public universities in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The study employes survey method of data collection using structured 180 questionnaires among employees, 162 usable questionnaires are returned. By using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the results indicates that spiritual leadership has a direct positive significant effect on employee performance and organizational commitment, organizational commitment mediates the relationship between spiritual leadership and employee performance whereas organizational commitment has no direct significant effect on employee performance.
