Abstract

Transmission of image and video over time-varying wireless channel can benefit from the use of the joint source-channel (JSC) coding methods. This study investigates the use of the sequence-based approximate MMSE method in the improvement of the joint source channel decoding of a DPCM system. Using this technique, three methods are presented. The produced results show that the method with the best performance outperforms the sequence maximum a posteriori technique.
